Access Cheat Sheet

Agricultural employers must be aware of the union right of access under the Agricultural Labor Relations Act (ALRA).

If a union files a Notice of Intent to Take Access (NA), it will have the right to take access on the grower's premises.  The NA is valid for 30 days, and each union can seek four 30 day access periods each year.

Remember to be sure the NA has an ALRB stamp showing that it was filed.

COUNSEL TO MANAGEMENT:

Growers should be vigilant to monitor visitors in the fields, and should make sure that all supervisors are trained in labor relations.

To set up a training session, please contact Saqui & Raimondo at (831)443-7100 or the Grower Shipper Association of Central California at (831) 422-8844.
